Due to the limitations on physical events that have been put in place this year, many events have been moved to a virtual format, with Sysmex being no exception. The desire to connect and network with other experts, as well as learn about the newest developments in specific industries is still there, so we planned a diverse and interactive platform for this.
The planned sessions covered areas from haematology, flow cytometry, urinalysis, haemostasis, life science, point of care and digital solutions. Topics ranged from latest product developments, to scientific and clinical applications, to improved cancer treatment based on detection and localisation, and many more. As a top IVD company in the area of haematology, those sessions were the most highly-anticipated.
Dr Francois Vergez, a Medical Biologist in haematology and presenter during the expo had this to say about the experience:
“I am happy to have had the opportunity to communicate in front of such a large audience. This proves that our community is more than capable of mobilising even during this particular time. I would like to especially thank the technical team and the Sysmex team who were very helpful during the preparation of the talk.”
The entire expo was hosted on an online platform mimicking a real event. Visitors could explore the small 3D environment and visit different areas of the booth depending on which session they wanted to attend. The most-visited session was the Welcome session on Tuesday with 238 participants.
However, overall, the participants of the expo were extremely engaged in all sessions, sending in many questions during and after presentations. We were very happy to see the participants so interactive, as this was of course one of the main goals of the event.
All in all, we can’t wait to welcome you to our next expo – whether it’s in person or virtual!
