The RAL SmearBox is an automated closed vial-sampling device for blood smearing. It is a standalone compact device that offers a suitable solution for laboratories with small workloads. The blood is homogenised by smooth rotation of the sample tube then a disposable spreader blade is used for blood aspiration and preparing the blood smear. The RAL SmearBox avoids all direct contact between the user and the blood sample.
Smear Workflow
The RAL SmearBox is a part of the Smear Workflow concept, which optimises the preparation of peripheral blood smears for automated digital morphology. It offers a suitable solution for small workloads or satellite laboratories connected to larger laboratories or hospitals. The Smear Workflow comprises the RAL SmearBox and RAL StainBox with methanol-free reagents, combined with the CellaVision® DC-1. The concept seamlessly covers the whole haematology workflow so that you can provide results with consistently high quality.
